Perched on a plateau overlooking the hills and valleys of pastoral land and a wildlife preserve forest near the Big Sioux River, Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery offers a quaint tasting room, a winery production room, an events center and a barrel room. Surrounding the building is the five-acre vineyard planted May 2010. At Calico Skies Vineyard and Winery, they use cold hardy French-American hybrid grapes to hand-craft a diverse selection of dry to sweet wines. Each wine is produced and bottled on-site in their winery production room. Each cold-hardy grape variety is hand-crafted to feature the grape's natural fruit character, ranging from fresh fruity whites to dry oak-aged reds.
